The Retro World of Wolfette Styling

Jade Wolf also known as Wolfette Styling has a bright imagination and unique ideas that are constantly swirling around in her pink retro world. Her love of mixing bright colours with out of this world photoshoots sets Jade apart from other stylists out there.

Q: When and how old were you when you got into fashion/styling?

A: I have been excited about fashion my entire life. My mom would make me

the coolest outfits growing up. I would play model for her, all shot on black and white rolls of film. This is something that progressed into my teens and even adult years. I began Wolfette Styling 3 years ago as a fun hobby.

Q: How would you describe your style and vibe you showcase through Wolfette styling?

A: Vintage or retro, ALWAYS ! You will never NOT find a touch of the past in my work. I am often very inspired by children’s toys and doo dads. I see the world through cool tones and vibrant colours.

Q: How has your looks evolved since starting styling?

A: Everything I create now is so much more than just

a fashion look. There is an incredible amount of creative aspects to the imagery. My team and I design the shoot, concept, location, models, props, accessories, clothing, hair, makeup styling and set design. I strive to achieve a complete vision. When I first began Wolfette Styling I would toss on my favorite pieces from my closet and that was a wrap

Q: Tell us about a time or event where you were most proud of your accomplishments within your styling?

A: Right now! Celebrating 3 years of Wolfette Styling this month. I’ve recently made the leap to working solely for my own business. It’s a pretty empowering move.

Q: Who are some of your inspirations within the fashion industry?

A: Bubble Gum Roots, Jewelry by Vida Kush, Film Photography by Brian Bruno, Filthy Mouth Creative, and Doodad and Fadango. I’m inspired by bits and pieces here and there from almost everywhere.

Q: What do you envision for yourself in the next 5 years?

A: I see myself traveling to collaborate with more artists all over the world, possibly even making a move to a larger city. Things are happening so incredibly quickly.

Q: Explain a day in the life for Wolfette styling?

A: I answer a lot of e-mails haha. I also spend a lot of time at my favourite park gathering my thoughts. I’m always on the lookout for cool locations. Sometimes I’ll even dedicate a whole day to location hunting, thrifting, crafting, designing, and munching.

Q: Where are some of the shops/places you find your unique pieces? Do you create a lot of your own garments?

A: I create a lot of my own props and accessories for shoots. I love to add old patches to boring denim dress, or super glue sparkly gems to a vintage tee. I find my absolute favourite one of a kind pieces at garage sales, vintage and thrift stores.

Q: Do you have a background in fashion/design?

A: 70,000 + plus hours of glitter crafting at my kitchen table

Q: Name your top 3 must have items? Do you have something special that you include in all your fashion shoots?

A: My black combat boots, leopard scrunchie and vintage bling, baby!

Q: Have you had any setbacks in life that would have stopped you from pursuing your dreams?

A: I’ve struggled with depression for most of the past colour years. Not able to get our of bed or wanting to talk to anyone ever. Overcoming this took an incredible amount of will power, alongside passion.

Q: What new ideas do you have coming up for the new year/ who are some people you would love to collaborate with?

A: I plan to become more involved in the music video scene and really indulge myself into a videographer perspective of fashion. I’m totally crushing on Bubble Gum Roots photography right now.

Q: Do you have anything else you want to share with your viewers?

A: Just be yo dang self Furbees.
