The Futuristic Modern Vibe of Stee Supply

April 20, 2017

Brothers Roman and Arsalan Asad discuss success, their new spring collection and where they see themselves in the next 5 years.

Q: Can you talk about your background- when did you first get into fashion and design?

A: We are half Russian and half Pakistani. We’ve inherited artistic traits through our parents while growing up around Asia and mainly in the Middle East. You could say we are second generation designers. After relocating to Canada my brother and I partnered up and launched Stee in 2015. Since then we’ve evolved from a street wear company to a respective innovative fashion label.

Q: Do you have an educational background in fashion?

A: No, we are self-educated within the fashion sphere and collaborate with a range of artists and individuals.

Q: What does Stee Supply stand for?

A: Stee is a synonym for style. It originates from the word Steezy, which means effortlessly stylish or elegant.

Q: What stores currently supply (Stee Supply)

A: Stee currently sells through our official website, as well as you can find us at The Basement By Loyal Coalition located in Gastown, Vancouver.

Q: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

A: We plan on expanding our markets while innovating fashion garments and accessories. Make Stee more accessible through more stores. Developing new methods of retail. Along with transforming Stee into a globally influenced brand.

Q: What separates your brand from other brands doing the same thing?

A: Stee does not follow competing brands’ blueprints.  We avoid constraints and create our own path, identifying, exploring and innovating fashion. We source and produce from within Canada in order to support the local economy. We strictly work with fabrics and materials of the highest quality ensuring high standards and sustainability. We produce in-house which allows us to inspect the quality of each individual product carefully. Stee also donates 5% for every product sold on our website to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) and we constantly are on the hunt for striving causes to support.

Q: Do you see yourself branching into other clothing items?

A: Stee currently sells T-shirts, Hoodies, Jewelry, and Button-Ups. We have prospective plans to keep growing and expanding our current selection of apparel along with accessories. We’re always on the lookout for new opportunities and projects.

Q: Do you have any new merchandise or any new projects you are currently working on?

A: At Stee, we are constantly developing new merchandise and projects. We’ve recently released Bamboo Hoodies and Jewelry, starting off by offering bracelets and are looking forward to expanding into other pieces soon. Currently, we are working on our spring collection which will be released this April.

Q: How would you define the word success?

A: Every person has his own perception of Success, we all need to set goals and tackle them constantly and consistently. Success is overcoming the challenges and experiences your goals produce. At Stee, we constantly set goals and milestones to tackle strategically. Our main goal is to influence and move fashion forward.

Q: How do you come up with your designs/ can you talk about the process?

A: After inspiration is struck, we try out and consider all the alternatives. Then we mock-up our designs which go back and forth from the designers, directors, and head of production, Arsalan Asad. After finalization of the product, we begin production and involve all of the above people through the process.

Q: What kind of vibe do you want to give off with your brand?

A: Stee portrays a modern vibe looking into the future of fashion paving the way.

Q: Are your clothes unisex?

A: Yes, the majority of our items are unisex.

Q: Do you have anything else you want your viewers to know about you?

A: We appreciate all the supporters and followers. We’d like to meet you. Get to know you and possibly collaborate. We’re also looking forward to doing more pop-ups, events and fashion shows. Stay tuned through our media pages @SteeSupply and our website www.SteeSupply.com
